  1. Open CAPSturn on your computer.
  2. Navigate to the Utilities menu.
  3. Select Tool and FS Data from the dropdown list.
  4. When prompted for a password, enter:

        Password: cadem

This will give you access to the tool and material configuration settings.

Step 2: Open the Workpiece Material List

    1. Inside the Configure tools and FS database window, switch to the Work piece material tab.
    2. You’ll see a list of predefined materials such as:
      1. Cast Iron (various grades)
      2. Stainless Steel (various types)
      3. Structural and high-carbon steels
      4. Aluminum Alloys
      5. Nickel-based Superalloys
      6. Titanium Alloys

If your specific workpiece material is not listed, you can add it manually.

Step 3: Add a New Workpiece Material

  1. Right-click anywhere in the Work piece material list.
  2. Choose Add from the context menu.
  3. The Add workpiece material window will pop up.

Step 4: Input Material Details

  1. Workpiece Material:Enter the material name (e.g., "Custom Alloy X1").
  2. Specific Cutting Force:Fill in the cutting force for:
    1. Drilling
    2. Turning
    3. Grooving and Parting
      (Units: N/mm²)
  3. Material Density:Enter the material density in gm/cc.
  4. Scrap Rate: Define the estimated scrap resale value.

Step 5: Save and Finish

  1. After entering all necessary data, click OK to save.
